Happy In MY Life

“If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.”
—Mother Teresa
Happiness is simplicity alive and well,
A state of mind in bliss to dwell,
It’s something any of us can choose to do,
When our hearts agree just to be true.

In our cosmopolitan world it’s easy to make comparisons—but rarely is happiness found there. More often we find contempt for what we have that God’s given us. We begin despising many blessings. We begin to lose focus. If we continue this way, we end up losing our way.
***
Stripping all the pretence away from life, when all the complexity and issues and stresses are put to one side, and we just sit within ourselves and feel our bodies, with emptied minds, we, for a flicker of a moment, experience God. A moment is all it takes to instil within the memory what is integral to us. Our bodies, that physical experience of life, cannot be taken away from us. Life is a possession that God has given, and suddenly thought for thankfulness enters our minds. Our hearts are at peace.
We need, for this moment, no other thing.
And again, all we need is possession of the memory at this moment, to carry forth with us into the days and years ahead. There is safety in identity, as we begin to see ourselves from the stable platform: we are one life, no lesser nor greater than the next life, but just as much as any cherished by God.
Be Happy Anyway
Happiness is so simple we often miss it because we overlook it. We are looking into the gift horse’s mouth determining there must be more to it, because we are looking for more. We complicate happiness because we don’t know what we are looking for.
The truth is happiness is closer than we think, but we will never find it in the traditional ways of searching. Happiness will find us, however, if we are able to open our minds. Opening our minds requires us to surrender—our ideas of happiness, our preconceptions, our selfish wants—just momentarily enough to experience the spirituality of true happiness.

True happiness runs beyond what anybody else thinks. It is happy as it is. No one will deter it. Such experience is easier than we think. It requires us to surrender our thoughts to God, and just be still in bodily form before him. Jesus transforms our life.
