Freedom to Transact and Transform

“It is the eye of ignorance that assigns a fixed and unchangeable color to every object; beware of this stumbling block.”

~Paul Gauguin.

Recently I got to thinking about these terms — transact and transform — and what they mean in life. The former means to act across, from one situation, or with one person/people, to another. The latter is to go above that; to change form.

The human being is designed to do both, and with confidence. Interaction is important; to transact. To transform is to be. We were never destined, as persons, to stay put.

The quote at top suggests it’s stifling for people to remain rigid, notwithstanding certain standards which we establish and keep.

It’s human privilege to move and grow.

To transact and transform is our function beyond the detail of life. How great and gorgeous a freedom we’ve been granted by God; to accomplish and reinvent ourselves.

Let’s resolve to do these things as we’re led by the Holy Spirit.
